Today we have a quick but insightful interview with the bass player of Brother Truck, Dom Ferri.
Along with being a great bass player, Dom is a connoisseur of the instrument. He has owned many varieties of electric bass in the past several years. In fact, if you are a bass player in Chicago, I would be willing to bet he has owned your bass at one time.
Anyway, I caught up with him at my apartment a few months back.
[Dom enters doing some karate]
Casey Meehan: Hey. What’s your name?
Dom Ferri: Domenico… Domenico Ferri, you gotta roll the “R”, it’s ethnic.
CM: So, where you from? What part of Italy are you from?
DF: Well, I am from Chicago actually… [flexes]
CM: I never would have guessed, I thought you were from the old country.
DF: Well, the blood is, the body isn’t…
CM: Do you really do a shot of olive oil every morning?
DF: It keeps my skin extra smooth and glistening in the hot Mediterranean sun.
CM: I thought it was looking pretty smooth… Interesting.
