In the last 18 months, Rock Proper has gained some massive exposure for a small handful of musicians. Tens of thousands of albums have been downloaded into nearly every country around the world. In that time, I have been lucky enough to discuss a ton of things with many musicians (not to mention fans, producers, managers and the like). These conversations centered around one thing. Well, two things actually…


1) 99.9% of the folks I spoke to expressed frustration with the current music industry. The degree of this frustration varied from subtly annoyed to outright LIVID. But with nearly everyone I spoke to one thing became clear, these musicians wanted to find better ways to get their music to a bigger audience.


2) A smaller group of musicians wanted info about submitting their music to be featured on Rock Proper. I have never fully addressed this on the site and definitely want to address that here too.


But first, I want to talk about an idea that I believe has the potential to be absolutely huge. Here’s a quick story…


Since I first took the helm of Rock Proper, I have been constantly coming across new and unique ways to promote and distribute original music. These tactics vary widely, from viral online video tactics to DIY silk screen tips to some really crazy stuff that I would love your feedback on. Over recent months, I have felt guilty & frustrated that I didn’t have the time or the tools to share all this awesome information. Then, the other night while warming a frozen pizza (aka inspiration fuel), I had an idea…

A “Musicians Only” email list!
